If you require one of your customers to authenticate an account connector, but they don’t have access to Cyclr and don’t want to share their credentials with you, you can use a Connector authentication Link and token.
This is an emailable link and token that allows your customer to access an area of Cyclr where they can only authenticate a specific account connector.
Generating a Setup Token #
- Go to the account that contains the connector you require your customer to authenticate.
- Open the Connectors menu.
- Select Edit Connector next to the connector to be authenticated.
- Select Generate Setup Token.

- Select an Account User with access to that Account for Cyclr to attribute the authentication to.
- Set a suitable expiry time for the Token.
- The default is 5 minutes, but you can change that depending on how long your customer may need to obtain credentials and perform the authentication.

- Select Generate to see the link and token you can share with your customer.
Note: The token generated here can only be used once so you may need to go through these steps again if your customer starts but doesn’t complete the authentication.
Authenticating Multiple Connectors #
If you need your customer to authenticate more than one Account Connector, you can generate and send multiple Setup Tokens to them, but they should use each Token to start and complete authenticating a Connector before moving on to the next Token and Connector.
Error Messages #
If a Token has expired, is invalid, or has already been used (as they are single-use), Cyclr will display an error page with the message “403 – Forbidden: Access is denied.” as shown below:

If that happens, generate a new Setup Token as described above.
