Account Users in Cyclr provide access to your own customers to interact with their own Cyclr Account. They can also serve as a means to grant your application access to a Cyclr Account on behalf of your customers through the Cyclr API.
You can find Account Users in your Cyclr Console under Accounts > User Management.
A single Account User can access multiple Accounts and Sub Accounts with different access levels. Likewise, an Account can be accessed by multiple Account Users.
Note that granting access to a parent Account does not grant a user access to its Sub Accounts, and vice versa.

Account Users are not Console Users
Please note that Account Users are different from Console Users.
A Console User refers to the access that you have to a Partner Console, and are only limited to the people in your team or organization who need access to your Partner Console. Do not give any of your customers access to the Partner Console.
Learn more about Console Users under the Security Settings article.
Account User Access Levels #
Account Users can be assigned two levels of access:
- Standard Access: Provides limited permissions to build and manage integrations without modifying Account settings or inviting other users.
- Administrator: Grants full control over a Cyclr Account, including managing settings and inviting new Account Users.
Users can be given different access levels on each Account and Sub Account.
Add an Account User #
There are two ways to add Account Users:
- In your Console, go to Accounts > Account Management, locate an Account, then “Invite” them into that Account.
- Manually create them in the Accounts > User Management area of your Console.
Invite a User into an Account #

- From your Cyclr Console, go to “Accounts” > “Account Management”.
- Locate the desired Account and click on the “Users” button.
- Click “Invite User” and enter the email address of the person to add.
- If the user should have Administrator rights, tick the “Add user as Administrator?” box to assign them Administrator access within that Account.
- Press “Invite” to send the invitation email.
An email will be sent to the provided email address with instructions to complete their setup and set their password.
Once the Account User has been set up, additional Accounts can be assigned to them within User Management as required.
Manually Create an Account User in User Management #
Note: This method does NOT send an email to the new user.
- From your Cyclr Console, go to “Accounts” > “User Management”.
- Click “+ Create User”.
- Enter the email address of the user to add then click “+ Add User” to create them.
- You can then provide additional details by entering the following:
- First and last names
- Email Address and Username – usually the same value.
- You can set a temporary password (modifiable by the user later) or leave it blank for the user to choose themselves through the Sign In page’s Forgotten Password feature.
- Click “Save”.

Add an Account User into an Account #
After an Account User has been created, you can give them access to one or more Accounts from within “Accounts” > “User Management” of your Cyclr Console.
- Locate the Account User in the user list and click the “Edit User” button next to them.
- The “Accounts” section of the next page shows which Accounts that Account User currently has access to. The level of access the user has to each Account is shown under the Permissions column as either “Access” or “Access, Administrator”.
- Under the “Give User Access to Account” section, use the dropdown list to select an additional Account to add the user into, then click the “plus” button to add them.
- Repeat if there are other Accounts they should be able to access.
Note that new Account Users added here will be added without Administrator access. You can change this later from the Account’s user settings.
Edit Account User Details #
Editing an existing Account User’s details, for example to update their name or email address, resetting their password, or adding/revoking Account access, can be done through the User Management area.
- Go to “Accounts” > “User Management” in your Cyclr Console.
- Find the User you want to Edit, utilizing the search bar if needed.
- Click on the cog icon “Edit User”.
- This will open the Edit User page where any necessary changes can be made.
- Click “Save” to save any changes.
Adding/Revoking Account Access from an Account User #
Assigning additional Account access to a user can also be done on the Edit User page:
- Scroll down to the “Give User Access to Account” section.
- From the drop down list, select the Account you want to add the user to.
- Click the plus button to add the account to the user profile.
- If successful, the Account name appears in the list below “Accounts” on the Edit User page.
- Repeat for additional Accounts. You can only add one Account at a time.
Revoking a user’s access to a certain Account can be done on the same Edit User page following this process:
- On the Edit User page, scroll down to “Accounts”.
- Click on the trash can icon next to an Account to revoke their access to it.
Providing/Revoking Administrator Access #
Once an Account User has been assigned access to an Account, giving them Administrator access to that Account can be done directly from the Account’s user management settings.
- Go to “Accounts” > “Account Management” in your Cyclr Console.
- Find the Account you need, utilizing the search box if needed.
- Click the “Users” button next to the Account name.
- From the Account Users page, identify the user, then tick or untick the “Administrator” box to set whether they have Administrator access to that Account.
Suspend an Account User #
Suspending an Account User is a practical choice when temporary restrictions are needed without permanently removing their profile. For instance, if a user is on extended leave or their access is temporarily unnecessary, disabling their Account User ensures they cannot log in or access any Accounts.
Here is how to disable an Account User from all Accounts at the same time:
- Go to “Accounts” > “User Management” in your Cyclr Console.
- Find the Account User you want to Disable, utilizing the search bar if needed.
- Press the lock icon to toggle the state of the Account User between Enabled and Disabled.
Delete an Account User #
Deleting an Account User is appropriate when their access is no longer required permanently, such as when they leave your organization or their role changes significantly. Deleting a user removes their profile and associated permissions from the system, helping maintain a clean and secure environment.
Deleting an Account User follows a similar process to disabling them. Here’s how to delete an Account User completely from all Accounts:
- Go to “Accounts” > “User Management” in your Cyclr Console.
- Find the Account User you want to Delete, utilizing the search bar if needed.
- Press the trash can icon “Delete User”.
