A Faster Way to Build: Updates Coming to the Cyclr Builder

We’re making a few updates to the Cyclr Builder to make day-to-day integration building faster, clearer, and easier to manage.

In October, we’re refreshing the User Interface of the Builder, with more consistent Step sizing, simpler controls, and clearer visibility of errors and warnings. The result is a cleaner, more consistent Builder that makes complex integrations easier to navigate.

Alongside the UI refresh, we are also introducing a new Step Copy capability that allows you to duplicate existing Steps within a Template or Cycle. Instead of recreating a Step and configuring it again from scratch, you’ll be able to create a copy of an existing Step and reuse its setup.

These changes will be coming to the Builder in our October release, starting from 13th October 2026 to 30th October 2026, depending on your location. Here’s what to expect…

A cleaner Step layout in the Cyclr Builder

One of the most visible changes of our Builder UI refresh is how Steps appear within the Cyclr Builder.

Previously, the size of a Step could vary depending on its name or the information displayed within it. Longer descriptions, for example, could result in noticeably wider Steps. This could make larger and more complex Templates and Cycles, that could make the Builder feel uneven and make the overall flow harder to scan.

With the updated UI, Steps have a consistent size, so a longer step name or description no longer changes its width. Instead, if the text is too long to display in full, you can view it through a tooltip by hovering your cursor over it.

This gives the Builder a more predictable layout and makes it easier to follow an integration from Step to Step without individual elements taking up unnecessary space.

Fewer buttons, with More Actions

We’ve also simplified the controls that are shown on each Step.

The actions you use most frequently, such as Step Setup, remain immediately accessible. But rather than showing a large number of buttons at the same time, additional options will now be grouped under More Actions. This is also where you’ll find the new Copy Step option.

Reducing the number of controls shown on each Step gives the Builder more space for the information that matters and makes the available actions easier to understand.

Clearer errors and warnings

The updated Step UI also makes errors and warnings easier to identify.

Instead of the usual status icons, Steps can now display the number of errors or warnings associated with them. If a Step has multiple issues, you can see that immediately before opening the details. You can then open the relevant details in the same way as before.

This provides a clearer indication of where your attention is needed, particularly when troubleshooting larger integrations.

A cleaner experience for Switch Steps

The Switch tool is also getting a more compact presentation.

A Switch Step can contain several possible routes, which can take up a significant amount of space in the Builder. With the updated interface, the Switch Step keeps the same standard size as the other steps, with the added option to expand the Switch when you need to inspect its exit routes and collapse it again when you don’t.

Copy existing Steps to reuse what already works

When building integrations, it’s common to need multiple Steps that are similar or use the same configuration. Until now, that has meant adding another Step and configuring it separately.

With Step Copy, you can duplicate an existing Step directly within the Template or Cycle you are working on. Open the More Actions menu on the Step you want to duplicate and select Copy Step. Cyclr creates a copy using the existing Step’s settings and mappings, where applicable. You can then connect the new Step where needed and complete its setup.

This is particularly useful when you are:

  • Building several similar branches within an integration
  • Reusing the same Connector Method with slightly different configuration
  • Creating repeated logic using Tool Steps
  • Extending an existing Template or Cycle
  • Making changes to a complex integration where recreating configuration manually would take additional time

Step Copy is available for Connector Method Steps as well as commonly used Tools, including Decision, Delay, Wait Until, Wait All, Annotation, and Switch.

How to use the Copy Step function

Important: hard refresh your browser

When the updated Builder becomes available to you, you may need to perform a hard refresh in your browser. This ensures your browser loads the latest Builder resources and that the new Step UI displays correctly.

If the Builder does not look as expected after the update, performing a hard refresh should be your first step.

How to perform a hard browser refresh:

  • Chrome, Edge, or Firefox on Windows or Linux: Ctrl + Shift + R (or Ctrl + F5)
  • Chrome, Edge, or Firefox on Mac: Cmd + Shift + R
  • Safari on Mac: Cmd + Option + R

Less repetition, easier integration building

Copying Steps removes repetitive configuration from common integration-building workflows. At the same time, the refreshed UI makes Steps more consistent, reduces unnecessary visual clutter, and surfaces useful information more clearly.

For partners who regularly build or maintain complex Templates and Cycles, these changes make everyday work in the Builder quicker and easier to manage.

If you’d like to see the updated Builder before it becomes more widely available, get in touch through the Cyclr Support portal. We’d be happy to arrange a preview so you can try the new Step UI and Copy Step functionality in action.
