If you need to manage references to records across two systems, you can use the Entity Cross Reference Storage Connector.

In this example I want to store references between MailChimp customers in Salesforce contacts.

I first listed customers in MailChimp, then find each within Salesforce by their email address. I’m now ready to create references between all these records and the Entity Cross Reference Storage Connector.

We just need to give the source application a name so we’re going with MailChimp and the source application here, and with the IDs from both systems, so customer ID from MailChimp and record that against contact ID from Salesforce.

In here we can give each record a meaningful name so we will just go by MailChimp, we will have first name, last name, and we’ll do the same for Salesforce. First name, and the last time.

Now we just need to run the cycle to record those references.

All those references in our recorded in the Entity Cross Reference Storage Connector, so we can use them in our cycles which will be the next video.
