Intercom – Setup

Remote Setup within Intercom – performed by Cyclr Partner

Intercom uses OAuth 2.0 for remote API access. Register Cyclr within Intercom as your own app to get the OAuth Client ID and Client Secret values you need for Cyclr to authenticate with Intercom.

For more information, see the official Intercom documentation:

When creating the Intercom app, set the Callback URL to the Callback URL of your Cyclr Partner Console.

Required Permissions

Cyclr requires the following permissions to create integrations with Intercom:

  • Read one user and one company
  • Write conversations
  • Read admins

Partner Setup in Cyclr Console

Having created your Intercom app, you set its Client ID and Client Secret values within your Cyclr Console so that they are always used when installing an Intercom Connector.

To do this:

  • Within your Cyclr console, go to Connectors > Application Connector Library and locate the entry for Intercom.
  • Select the Installation User Experience button.
  • Select the Settings tab:
PropertyDescription
Client IDThe Client ID of your Intercom app.
Client SecretThe Client Secret of your Intercom app.

Cyclr Connector Installation

When installing an Intercom Connector, the user will be asked to sign in to Intercom then provide consent for your Intercom app to access their data.
